It has been three months since the tornado went through Meadowbrook. Some folks have work completed on their homes, some have their homes rebuilt and are working on the inside, and others are beginning their rebuilds. It takes time, but to look back at what has been accomplished in such a short period of time is astounding. I watched those crews up on the roofs in the 90 degree, 90% humidity weather, and I was totally taken aback at the amount of work they did in a day in such horrible conditions. Yet the next morning, there they were up on another roof, singing along with the radio and making the most of the horrible conditions for another day, hoping maybe it wouldn't be quite so hot or humid. Those guys are awesome!
Those that worked in the attics testing for moisture, removing insulation and then putting insulation back in under the same conditions, never once complained about having to do their jobs, and they often worked into the evenings finishing up the days' list of homes.
The siding crew, the garage door installation folks, the window installer, and all the others that have worked hard to restore our homes to their original (or even better!) condition deserve a big thank you for all the hard work they have done in some brutal weather conditions. If you get a chance to say, "good job guys," or "thanks for what you do," it might just put a big smile on their face!
